So many great shots here, with spaces inside spaces and mirrors creating new reflected spaces. The first of these in the "boudoir" sequence--a portal shot atop these last slides, with its embossings and metal-on-metal--contrasted with the cold simplicity of the metal latch to the slightly opened door. A great initiation to "secrets." The ghostly frames of the indoor facades in #2--their pictures removed, where the secret spaces are whitewash; it'll take some time to figure out the "secret" in the trompe l'oeil (sp?) ceiling mural, as I can't figure out the mythology, but it must be great to be in one's boudoir and look up at such a ceiling--means one's fantasie have to be pretty mythic to keep pace; I'll sign off with a fourth, just how swell that bronze arch is (is it a godly bas-relief, or just a grape-draped boy)? and how it raises one's sights as one gets read to step behind the parting curtains. The Proust I will leave to another time, when the brain is a bit clearer. I'm just struck, though, by how filled up the space is with places to flop and write and how different from the other boudoir rooms.... Loverly work, m'dear.
